Very few cars from the 1980s can be thought of as 'outstanding'. Auto enthusiasts during the 80s were looking at the cars of 1960s to early 1970s as being the last really interesting cars that were produced.

Due to the high costs of gasoline and the rising inflation from the mid-1970s to the late-1990s, few cars were built that had significant performance. (Little did we expect that technology would rectify the situation in the 1990s.) However, some manufacturers created certain interesting cars that are becoming collectible.
