Press kits are as old as the brochures
themselves and my two favorites are these 1948 Lincoln
and 1948 Mercury press kits that are currently in stock.
They were created for newspapers to write articles for
the initial presentation of the cars to the public.
Once used, they were discarded because they contained
printer's materials that once used were destroyed. Consequently
these press kits are extremely rare as they were never
sent to a newspaper but were acquired by Rick Lenz,
a collector of literature, and he preserved them as
new.

McLellan' Automotive History currently
has a 50%
discount Press Kit sale on all press kits from 1997.
From these press kits that I acquired mostly from Detroit
Auto Shows, I have selected my favorites.
