Houston Car Clubs

Although the "Automotive Chronicles" and our parent company, McLellan's Automotive History, are international and over half of our business is outside of the U.S., we are physically located in Houston, Texas. We want to take this opportunity to salute our regional clubs and their members for their support for over 45 years.

Based on information from "The Houston Chronicle" newspaper, the following clubs are active in the Houston area:

ALFA ROMEO OWNER'S ASSOCIATION: The club meets one Saturday per month. The times and sites vary. A variety of tours and special events are planned. AMC CLUB OF HOUSTON: Founded in 1983, the club meets at 7:30 pm on the second Tuesday of each month at Hickory Hollow, located at 101 Heights Blvd in Houston. All AMC enthusiasts are welcome. ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILE CLUB OF AMERICA: The Gulf Coast Region of the country's oldest and largest automotive historical society meets at the Texas Bank Activities Center, 5217 Cedar St. in Bellaire. The club is open to anyone with an interest in antique automobiles. Meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. the second Monday of each month, except for February, July and December when special activities are planned. For information call 713-871-1943

BAY AREA VOLKSWAGEN CLUB: The club was started in 1988 and in 2005 under went significant improvements to foster membershipsÊboth the old air coolers and new water cooled VWs. BAYSHORE FINE RIDES OF BAYTOWN: Membership is open to classic cars, trucks and street rods. The club meets at 7 p.m., the fourth Thursday of odd-numbered months at Roosters Steak House in Baytown. BLAST FROM THE PAST STREET MACHINES OF TEXAS: The club meets at the 24 Hour Fitness Center on FM 1960 in Atascocita Saturday Nights from 6:00 PMÊto 10:00 PM. This Club is open to anyone with an interest in Vintage Vehicles,ÊClassic Cars, Muscle Cars, and Special Interest Vehicles. Club events include cruises, car shows and other gatherings. Cadillac-Allante Club: The Southeast Texas chapter of the Allante Club of America is dedicated to enjoying and maintaining the value of the Italian-American made Pininfarina-Cadillac Allante, which was manufactured from 1987-1993. Meetings are held at 10:30AM each second Sunday of odd-numbered months, at Starbuck's on Post Oak @ Loop 610 West (about 1-mile north of the Galleria). CADILLAC-LaSALLE CLUB: A Gulf Coast chapter of the national Cadillac LaSalle Club has been formed in the Houston area. The club is dedicated to Cadillacs from 1902 to present and the LaSalle, a product manufactured from 1927-1940. Meetings are held the first Sunday of each month at various locations. CLUB AVALANCHE: Houston Avalanche Club has been Crusin Texas for over 3 years. We have meets once a month in Houston and surrounding areas. The group is family-oriented. CORINTHIAN VINTAGE AUTO RACING: The club, which specializes in vintage race cars, hosts four special events annually, including one at Texas World Speedway in College Station. Corvette Owners Club of Houston: The club is a West/Northwest Houston based club. The club was formed to help charities throughout the city of Houston. The club host car shows and other eventsÊto raise money for their different charities. Our mission is to provide Corvette Owners a venue that promotes the pride and spirit in the ownership of America's legendary sports car. The club holds monthly meetings at their sponsor Mac Haik Chevrolet on the second Saturday of each month. CRUZIN' BUDDIES: The club meets 7-9 p.m., Friday and Saturday in the lighted Kroger parking lot atÊ Normandy and Woodforest, on the east side of town. The group invites anyone with an interest in Classic cars and trucks. It is a very informal club with no dues or meetings.

DE TOMASO PANTERA OWNER'S CLUB: The Space City Panteras club meets the second Saturday of each month. Social events, car shows and trips are planned by the group. ELECTRIC AUTO ASSOCIATION, HOUSTON CHAPTER: Revived in 1987, this is a non-profit organization open to all enthusiasts of clean, quiet, economical electric vehicles. The membership possesses a wealth of practical knowledge of the conversion of gasoline cars to electric traction, and in the day-to-day operation of EVs as a practical means of transport. Some of the members' vehicles are production models, but most are "shade tree" conversions to 100 percent pollution-free battery power. Hybrid owners welcome. Meetings are held at 6:30 p.m., the third Thursday of each month at the Citizen's Environmental Center, room 280, 3015 Richmond Ave. The Web site is http://www.heaa.org/.

FERRARI CLUB OF AMERICA: The club's South Central Region, Houston Chapter, is dedicated to owners and fans of Ferrari automobiles. The club offers regular social and driving events. FIFTIES UNLIMITED: We have been an active club in Galveston County since 1978. We began as a club dedicated to the preservation, restoration and driving of American cars and trucks of the 1950's model years. In the late '70, we expanded to include all interesting cars. We now have members wo own cars from the 1920's through 1080's. Actual ownership of a car is not a requirement for membership, just an interest in old cars is enough. We participate in parades, car shows, cruise nights, poker and rod runs, and anything else relating to enjoying our old cars and the people who share our passion. Some of our members' cars have even been in movies shot in the Houston Area. We donate to various charities. We meet on the third Tuesday of the month, at various spots in Galveston county. GREATER HOUSTON MODEL A CLUB: This 39-year-old club is the first in Texas to be charter members of both national organizations - Model A Restorer's Club and Model A Ford Club of America. GHMAC has approximately 200 families who enjoy learning, restoring and driving Ford Model A's. Have a Model A? You can join the group at 7 p.m., the third Wednesday of the month, at Cafe Ko Restaurant, 12740 East I-10. GHMAC also has monthly activities that include overnight trips, technical workshops, and three multi-club events to the Poor Boy, Gulf Coast and the Texas Tours. GREATER HOUSTON OLD CAR CLUB: The group meets at 7:30 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month at the Post Oak YMCA, 1330 Augusta Ln , Houston. Members participate in activities such as tours, picnics, parades and swapmeets. Anyone interested in old cars is welcome. GULF COAST GTOs: The club is dedicated to the preservation of and interest in the Pontiac GTO. It is the 50th chapter of the GTO Association of America. The club meets the second Tuesday of each month beginning at 7 p.m. Meetings on the even-number months are at Fuddruckers on Greens Rd. GULF COAST HEALEY CLUB: The Gulf Coast Healey Club is dedicated to the enjoyment of Donald Healey's cars and the adventures made possible. The purpose of the club is to participate in Healey related activities and to preserve the Healey Marque. Membership is open to all owners of Austin Healeys and to all others who profess an interest in the cars or the purpose of the club. HOUSTON AREA LEGENDARY FIREBIRDS (HALF): A First Generation Firebird organization. A fun loving group dedicated to 1967-1969 Firebirds. No fees, no dues, no obligations, no set 'formal' meetings. We do meet several times a year (different places), organize cruises in and out of town, have some "monster garages" for group members. HOUSTON AREA THIRDGEN: Family oriented active club for thirdgen (1982 to 1992) Camaros and Firebirds. We have "big" gatherings about every 3 months - usually meet in a park and burn some hot dogs - go on a mass cruise to different destinations - usually one of the local parking lot car shows, or one of the local drag strips. 35 - 40 active members in Houston-area. HOUSTON BUICK CLUB: Originally established in 1996 and reorganized in 2004, this club was founded to bring together Buick performance and restoration enthusiasts of the Houston and Gulf Coast area. Membership is comprised mostly of owners of 1965 - 72 Gran Sports and 1985 - 87 turbo cars; however all Buick enthusiasts are welcome. Meetings are held monthly at various locations around Houston. HOUSTON CAMARO CLUB: The group meets at 7:30 p.m., the second Thursday of each month at Cheddar's on Sam Houston Pkwy and Westpark. Membership dues are $30 per year. The group is a family oriented first-generation Camaro club that "loves to cruise and have fun." HOUSTON CITY CRUISERS: We are a family-oriented PT Cruiser car club. We meet on the first Sunday and third Friday of each month. The club has various events such as driving trips, car shows, etc.. HOUSTON CLASSIC CHEVY CLUB: Founded August 1989, the club is dedicated to the preservation, restoration and enjoyment of '55, '56 and '57 Chevrolet automobiles, Corvettes and trucks.
