Recipient of the 2003 "Society of Automotive
Historians" Cugnot Award for books in language
other than English
can be found in some of the most far-reaching places
on earth. One of the most interesting enterprises is
a company owned by a customer of McLellan's Automotive
History, Asbjorn Rolseth, who lives in Oslo, Norway.
Asbjorn writes to us that his company, "Transportreportasje",
was established due to his freelance writing / photography
for Norwegian car and truck magazines. He specializes
in articles about collector cars and trucks. And, for
15 years, he has published an annual vintage truck calendar
showing restored and old original trucks in and from
In 2002 he published
a 600-page, 800-photograph book about Norwegian body
building companies. Asbjorn was presented the Cugnot
Award for the best book of the year in a language
other than English by the Society of Automotive Historians.
An interesting connection for us is that the award was
presented to Asbjorn by Z.
Taylor Vinson who is featured in this month's "Profiles
in Collecting" series article.
Literature that Asbjorn
has purchased from McLellan's Automotive History is
used for research, in addition to appearing in the articles,
and covers a wide range of American, Norwegian and Canadian
manufacturers. Some examples of his work appear in the
November issue of 'Norsk Motor Veteran" magazine
as shown below:

beauty of the cars as seen in these images from a sales
